Welcome to Prime Collies Australia. We are a small, family-run breeder dedicated to producing healthy, well-socialised Border Collie puppies for loving Australian homes.
Our Story
Our love for Border Collies began 7 years ago, when our first Collie became part of our family. We were captivated by their intelligence, loyalty, and gentle nature with children. What started as a personal passion grew into a commitment to share these remarkable dogs with families across Australia.
Today, based in Darwin, Northern Territory, we focus on quality rather than quantity, raising a small number of carefully planned litters each year, each one in our home, underfoot from day one.
Our Breeding Philosophy
We believe a great puppy begins with great parents, and great parents begin with great care. Every dog in our breeding programme is:
- Health-tested for the genetic conditions most relevant to the Border Collie breed (hip and elbow scoring, eye certification, DNA panels for CEA, TNS, CL and IGS)
- Vet-checked and up-to-date on vaccinations
- Raised as part of our family not in kennels with daily socialisation, structured play, and gentle handling
- Selected as much for temperament as for conformation
We are committed to ethical breeding practices. We never sell our puppies to pet stores, brokers, or third parties.
What Comes With Every Puppy
When your puppy comes home, they leave us with:
- Up-to-date vaccinations and worming
- Microchip registered to your details
- Veterinary health check certificate
- Pedigree paperwork (where applicable)
- A starter pack of food, a blanket, and a toy carrying scent from the litter
- Lifetime breeder support” we are always available for advice as your puppy grows
Visiting & Choosing Your Puppy
We welcome visits to meet our breeding dogs and litters in person, by appointment. If you’re outside the Northern Territory, we can arrange professional pet transport across mainland Australia.
We take time to match puppies to families, not the other way around. Every Prime Collies puppy goes to a home selected for the right energy, lifestyle, and long-term commitment.
